Intensive Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults overnight. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks follow nights of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
